How to start your SEO research
- Learn from forums on how people speak about your niche. We want to match our language to the audience’s language. Start with optimizing your best-selling products.
- Download keywords from Google Console.
- Find words on SEMrush.
- Then, for each keyword, check the CPC (cost per click); what is the search volume, and what is the competition level?
- Is this search too broad to be relevant? Try to niche down to a specific phrase.
- Create key pages the most popular pages that bring the most traffic to you. On those pages, make sure the articles have more than 300 words. Blog posts should aim for 500-1000 words. Make sure that the headlines and sub-headlines have your keywords.
Competitor analysis
- Check who your competitors are in the keywords you want to rank on.
- Check what phrases they’re using.
- Go to pages that rank first, hit CTRL+F, and check how many times your keyword appears on those pages.
- Write down different keyword variations. Check how your competitors used those keywords.
- Then, open the source code of your competitor’s website.
- Check <title> of the website: how many times has the website used the keywords in the title? If the page title doesn’t include the keyword, it means the website isn’t optimized.
- Search for the meta description it’s a description of what’s on that page. Its length should be between 275-300 characters.
- Meta keywords Google doesn’t take that category seriously, but it can inspire you on which keywords to use.
- Open site explorer – it shows you how many backlinks the website has. It will show you the relative authority of your website.

Try to avoid as much as possible. Rewrite product descriptions because everyone uses the same ones.
Headers
Only for the main topic of the page (H1)
For the secondary headlines (H2)
For even less important headlines (H3)
Page Title
there’s the regular WordPress title of every page. But you want to overwrite this title using an SEO plugin like Yoast.
Meta description
Google doesn’t analyze your meta description, but you should make it as enticing as possible for more click traffic
Meta keywords: don’t spend time adding meta keywords. Google doesn’t care about it.
Alt image text
a description that precisely describes the image. It helps the images appear in Google photos (and most importantly, it helps visually impaired people to read the page with their screen reader).
Schema markup
add those to your website code. It can be reviews, event information, contact information, TV episode and film details, restaurants, and product info.
Check the website’s speed it should load within two seconds. Every extra second reduces your conversion rate by one second.

You can link your website on directory websites like Google, Yelp, Yahoo, etc.
